A collection of sketches from my first week of May Sketch A Day! I'm using this art challenge to help break the burnout and indulge in whatever my little muse's heart desires. In this case, I've been exploring my own desert fantasy world, Song of Exile, and some of the denizens that inhabit the place.
Exploring Khalara’s silk merchant look as if she were posing for an expensive portrait showcasing her extravagance. She’s hidden her humble origins well with pomp and henna.
Continuing the exploration of Khalara from the day before. She's still channeling much of her original Exalted RPG vibe, but this was a step in evolution exploring her new look and the properties of her magically imbued silk.

More exploration of Khalara's primary export as a merchant. Her silk moths have magical properties, their harvested silk showing bioluminescence in the woven cloth made from their cocoons. The prohibitively expensive cloth also provides cooling properties
